Who We Are
Help Build A New Home!
Help us build affordable housing in the Greater Albuquerque area and nourish your spirit of giving by bringing stability and security to children, families and individuals. We need your help, now more than ever. It takes people like you, who are willing to give a few hours each month or several days a year, to help turn a slab of concrete into a new home for a local family.
You can view opportunities available on our calendar!
Construction site is open Wednesday's and Saturday's. No construction experience is necessary.
What We Do
Policy and Guidelines!
Your first job when arriving at the work site is to find the Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity employee in charge of the build. Any questions or problems that arise should be directed to this employee. Also, keep in mind that not all volunteers have the same skills. Each volunteer must recognize his own limitations and stay within them.
We’re all focused on a mission on the job site – building a new home – but, before you put on your hard hat, please review the following safety rules. Remember, this is a construction site.
Volunteer Guidelines for Construction Sites:
When you arrive, please check in with our sign-in sheet.
You must complete a waiver prior to the work day and sign up for shift online -no walk ons please!
Wear clothing you won’t mind getting dirty. Check the weather and dress appropriately. Pants required
Sturdy closed-toe shoes are required for your safety. You will not be allowed to work on site in sandals or flip flops.
Lunch is provided
Tools and equipment supplied
Portable restroom on site
Work of this type can be strenuous, especially if you are unaccustomed to physical labor. Please be sure to pace yourself and take breaks when necessary. We recommend that you bring your own filled water bottle, and we will provide refills and snacks throughout your shift. If you bring tools with you, make sure they are labeled. We do have Habitat tools on site for any work that will be done on that day. We will also all work together before the end of each shift to leave the job site ready for the next day.
Are you new to volunteering?
We recommend signing up for our new volunteer orientation if you are new to volunteering with us.
